| 内容简介（中文） | 郎世宁（一六八八－一七六六）意大利人。十九岁入天主教耶稣会为修士，习画与建筑。二十七岁来华传教，召入内廷供奉。善画人物花鸟，尤善画马。 油画，香妃着甲冑戎衣，写影刚健婀娜。 |
| 内容简介（英文） | Lang Shih-ning (1688-1766), born Giuseppe Castiglione, was a native of Milan. When at nineteen he became a Jesuit he already excelled at painting and architecture. At twenty-seven he journeyed to China as a missionary and was summoned to the Imperial Court where he served under the K’ang-hsi, Yung-cheng, and Ch’ien-lung emperors. He is known for his rendering of figures, flowers and birds, and most especially for his dogs and horses. He painted in the Chinese manner, but made use of Western techniques such as shading and perspective, and of Western colouring agents, which give his works great vividness and realism. This is an oil portrait of the “Fragrant Consort” Hsiang Fei. She is clothed in the armour and regalia of a European noble. The brushwork is graceful and unyielding. |
