| 内容简介（中文） | 陈树人（公元一八八三－一九四八年），广东番禺人。原名政，以字行，别署猛进，晚号安定老人。从居廉学，尝留学日本与高剑父、高奇峰开岭南画派先河。绘画重写生，弃仿古，有清秀明丽之气。行楷书七言绝句，结体拙朴，不假修饰，运笔中锋略带侧势，具个人面目。 |
| 内容简介（英文） | Ch’en Shu-jen (original name Cheng and sobriquets Meng-chin and Anting lao-jen) was a native of P’an-ping, Canton. He learned painting from Chu Lien (1828-1909) and went to Japan to continue his artistic training. Along with Kao Chien-fu and Kao Ch’ifeng, he is one of the founders of the Ling-nan School, noted for the combination of Western realism, Chinese techniques, and the old masters’ styles to create a pure and elegant manner. The calligraphy in this hanging scroll is a seven-character truncated verse which is notable for its intentionally awkward style of brushwork. The characters have notbeen intentionally run together, and they have been rendered using a centered brush slightly slanted, giving the work a personal style. Ch’en’s inscription to the left indicates that the scroll was done in 1947. |
